2014 British Summer Time Line Up

Returning for a second year at 2014, British Summer Time in Hyde Park.

The 2014 event took place through July and saw The Arcade Fire open proceedings on Thursday 3rd. Making it the final date on their Reflektor tour, they were the perfect act to get BST in Hyde Park under way. Support on the day came from Nottingham’s Jake Bugg, Wild Beasts, Future Islands (returning for 2015), Public Service Broadcasting, Hearts and Wakey! Wakey!

Heavy Metal legends Black Sabbath took to the stage for Friday 4 July with a rousing set led by the inimitable Ozzy Osbourne. Joined on the day by Soundgarden, Faith No More, MOtorhead, Hell, Kobra and Lotus, Wolfmother, Bo Ningen, Rise To Remain, Blitz Kids, The First, The Bots, Soulfly, Gallows and many more.

The Libertines reunited to headline on the Saturday 5th July 2014 along with stints from Blur guitarist Graham Coxon, The Pogues, Spiritualized, Maximo Park, Wolf Alice, Swim Deep, The Enemy, Reverend And The Makers, I Am Kloot, The View, Darlia, Cuckoo Lander, Brown Bear, The Twang, The Rifles, and Raglans.

Sunday 6th July saw McBusted headline with special guests The Backstreet Boys, Scouting for Girls, Diversity, Lawson, Five, Neon Jungle, Elyar Fox, Ollie Marland, George Barnett, Joel Baker, and Mike Dignam.

Comedy took centre stage for the the first time at BST on Thursday 10th Juky with Tim Minchin headlining a day of mirth and fun. Supported through the event by rapid fire punning from Milton Jones, crazed ventriloquism from Nina Conti, QI’s very own Alan Davies, Gina Yashere, and special guest host Jasper Carrot.

Satuday 12th July saw the mighty Neil Young and Crazy Horse take to the stage with support from The National, Tom Odell, Caitlin Rose, Half Moon Run, Lucy Rose, Ethan Johns, The Webb Sisters, Jack Savoretti, To Kill A King, Hero Fisher, Phosphorescent, and Flyte.

Bringing festivities to a close was the big voice from Wales, the one and only MrTom Jones on Sunday 13th July 2014. Heading up a big day packed with family friendly music acts and much-loved children’s entertainers the music also came from Boyzone, Little Mix, 10cc, Bootleg Beatles, with entertainments from Horrible Histories, Shaun the Sheep, Go!Go!Go!, Mr Men Little Miss, Troy and a special Carinval area.
